GUWAHATI: Following detection of COVID-19 positive cases at Central Jail, Guwahati, the jail has been declared as a containment zone. Kamrup (Metro) district administration has ordered Dispur revenue circle officer to seal the Central Jail area.
“Any unauthorized entry and exit into the notified CONTAINMENT ZONE are barred till the area is declared safe as per guidelines of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GOI. Any movement of any unauthorized individual and vehicle within the notified area is also prohibited with immediate effect,” stated in an official order.
The boundary of the containment zone is as follows:
North: Residence Sri Hiren Teron and Office of Coffee Board
South: Adjacent Road to Central Jail
East: SSB Camp and Assam Police Plot
West: Main Gate of Central Gate
