Buy mutton at Rs. 650 per KG in Guwahati

Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation on Friday has announced price drop in mutton. The price of mutton will be Rs. 650 per kg against Rs. 700 per kg from now.

The Greater Guwahati Qureshi Meat Shoppers’ Association held a meeting in this regard on Thursday and took the decision to slash the price of mutton to Rs 650 per kg. The Association later informed the GMC of its decision on slashing the price of mutton. This was informed by a letter addressing the GM commissioner.

The letter stated, “We the GREATER GUWAHATI QURESHI MEAT SHOPPERS ASSOCIATION has decided to deduct the price of the mutton per Kg from Rs. 700/- per kg to Rs. 650/- per Kg due to the pandemic situation from COVID-19. That, due to the present situation of the world and the crisis which has been facing by the public, we have decided to deduct Rs 50/- per kg in mutton. This resolution shall be affected from tomorrow i.e 12/6/2020 we shall charge Rs. 650/- per kg in mutton instead of Rs. 700/- per kg.
That, this resolution shall remain effective until our next resolution on price”.  

According to the Greater Guwahati Goat Traders Association, during the period of COVID-19-induced lockdown, the price of mutton was on the rise due to the limited supply.

The price of mutton has been Rs. 700 since the time of the lockdown. From now onwards, the price of goat meat will be Rs. 650 per kg. From Friday, customers will be able to buy goat meat for Rs 650.
