GUWAHATI, Nov 26: Sensation prevailed at Hengerabari locality of Guwahati after a budding model and actress was found dead inside her rent house.
The body was identified as that of Anushka Saikia, originally hailing from Dhemaji, who was also pursuing a make-up course in Guwahati. She had taken the house located near the Amrit Udyaan on rent. The body was recovered at the same house today.
The body was discovered by the housemaid when she came in the morning for regular cleaning.
The young woman’s body was found lying on the floor while a wire was seen dangling from the ceiling fan of the house, fueling suspicion and doubts that it could be a murder case and not a case of suicide.
“How can it be a case of suicide? We saw the body lying on the floor with the fists tightly clenched while a wire was hanging from the fan. If she had taken her own life by hanging herself how did she fall to the floor,” a relative of the deceased said.
Police, meanwhile, are questioning the maid and the owner of the house as part of their investigation.
