GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which has already announced about contesting Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) polls alone would field candidates in all the 40 constituencies of the council.

The decision has been announced today by BJP leader and Assam minister Bhabesh Kalita.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Kalita said, “We have decided to take part in BTC elections alone.  The elections will test the organisational grounds of BJP and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) like last Panchayat elections did for AGP and BJP. We are eyeing to form the government in BTC.”

He also mentioned that around 400 party workers have appealed for BJP tickets in BTC polls which are scheduled to be held on April 4.
