GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to announce two more COVID-19 positive cases in the State. The two new cases have been found from Silchar quarantine centre in barak Valley. While one person belongs to Cachar, another patient is from Hailakandi district, informed health minister Sarma in his Tweet.

With these new cases, the number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has reached 216. With the discharge of 54 and deaths of 4 patients, currently there are 155 active cases in the State. Three patients have migrated to other states.
Assam has been witnessing a surge of new COVID-19 positive cases in the last few days, mostly among the incoming people from other states. However, majority of the cases have been detected from quarantine centres in the State.
