Breaking: 1,735 new COVID-19 positive cases, 8 deaths in Assam

GUWAHATI: Assam recorded 1,735 fresh COVID-19 cases out of the 34,376 tests conducted on Thursday.

Health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ 1735 #COVID cases detected today out of 34376 tests done in last 24 hours Positivity Rate- 5.04% Kamrup (M)- 389, Cachar- 175, Dibrugarh-116, Barpeta- 112

Total cases 86052

Recovered 60348

Active cases 25480

Deaths 221”

On the other hand, 8 more patients succumbed to the infection in the state. With this the   death toll has reached 221.
