GUWAHATI, Oct 29: A minor boy was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Longjap Padumanigaon in Kampur in Nagaon district today.
The deceased, identified as Ajijul Haque, had come out of his house when he met face-to-face with the elephant.
Despite trying to escape, he could not and was trampled to death by the angry wild elephant.
Forest officials, when informed about the tragic incident, arrived at the spot and sent the body of the deceased for a post-mortem.
Incidentally, incidents of elephants straying into the area have become common leading to residents passing sleepless nights.
