Bodoland Peace Accord soon on the cards, Ranjan Daimary gets 1-mth bail

PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATI: Jailed NDFB leader Ranjan Daimary has got bail for a month. The bail has been granted by the Union Home Ministry. This signals that the signing of the peace accord with NDFB, and other Bodo militants is soon on the cards as Daimary is also going to be a signatory of the peace accord.

Daimary is currently lodged in Guwahati jail after he was sentenced to life imprisonment over links to the 2008 serial blasts that rocked Guwahati and other parts of Assam. He is slated to be flown to Delhi later today.

Meanwhile, all the different units of NDFB are camping in New Delhi carrying on parleys in the final stages of the peace process. President of All Bodo Students Union Promod Boro is also a part of this discussion.

“I dont think I am the right person to say when the treaty will be signed. We are in discussion with Assam as well as central government. The discussion is going on with all Bodo groups. It is a good news for Bodo people as permanent peace will prevail, hence it is good news for all the people. It will also be a big achievement for the government as the conflict between Indian Army and Bodo militant groups will come to an end,” said Promod Boro, president ABSU.
