BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi and four security personnel were killed in a Naxal attack in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. Maoists triggered an IED at Nakulnar in Dantewada in which the BJP legislator was killed.
Reports said three among the four others killed in the ambush were Chhattisgarh Police personnel while the fifth was the driver of the vehicle that was ambushed.
The attack comes barely two days before the first phase of polling on Thursday (April 11).
Reports say Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has called a high-level meeting following the ambush. (NL Web Desk)
