GUWAHATI: Senior Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s official residence in Guwahati on Sunday. Daimary has left Rajya Sabha membership and the BPF to join the saffron party.

Along with Biswajit Daimary, Tamulpur MLA and BPF leader Emmanuel Mosahary also joined the BJP in the presence of CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Assam state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass and BJP national general secretary Dilip Saikia.

“The joining of the two senior leaders is a good sign for the upcoming Bodoland Terrtitorial Council (BTC) elections. Because, it has become clear that BJP will form the BTC this year. I hope their joining will strengthen our party,” Sonowal said.
