Biker killed after truck rams into bike in North Guwahati

In a tragic incident, a man was killed after a truck rammed into the motorcycle of the victim at Amingaon in North Guwahati on Wednesday night.

As per inputs, the speeding truck hit the motorcycle, following which the rider died on the spot.
The accident took place when he was returning to his house after work.

Following the accident, police have arrested the truck driver and handyman.

The deceased has been identified as Raja Hari, who was working at the Amingaon Assam Cricket Association.

Soon after the accident, police arrived at the accident spot and seized the truck. The body was sent to the hospital for autopsy.

Further investigation is underway.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday that the Assam government has set a target to make the state accident-free by 2026.

Sarma chaired a video conference in Guwahati, with DCs, SPs, and top officials from Transport, Excise, and PWD. Various aspects of road safety were discussed during the meeting.

He reviewed the road safety measures in the districts and urged officials to make all efforts to achieve a state free of accidents by 2026.
