Bhubaneswar Kalita slams Tarun Gogoi for allying with AIUDF

GUWAHATI: Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader Bhubaneswar Kalita criticised former Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi for playing a proactive role in forging an alliance between the Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) ahead of Assam assembly polls in 2021.

Taking a dig at Gogoi, Kalita alleged that the former chief minister has been engaged in dynastic politics.

“Gogoi is now engaged in dynastic politics. He has exposed his power hungry character,” the Rajya Sabha MP said.

Kalita, a former Congress man revealed that there were talks on Congress-AIUDF pact when he was the president of the state unit of the party.

“But Congress leaders were against such alliance. It was Gogoi who opposed the alliance with AIUDF at that time,” Bhubaneswar Kalita said.
