Beauty queen takes up arms: Here’s why

GUWAHATI: Burmese beauty queen Htet Htet represented Myanmar in the first Miss Grand International beauty pageant in Thailand in 2013. Following the military coup in the country, the beauty queen has taken up arms to end junta regime.

The beauty queen has recently tweeted some of her pictures with an assault rifle.

“The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall. (Che Guevara) We must Win,” she wrote.

The coup in Myanmar ended the country’s decade-long experiment with democracy after half a century of military rule.

This may be noted that Myanmar has been in chaos since the military ousted civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi and seized power on February 1.

“As of 10 May, at least 782 people have been killed as security forces used unnecessary, disproportionate and lethal force, to suppress demonstrations and other forms of public participation, since the military coup on 1 February,” reported UN News.
