Assam’s Nayanjyoti Saikia Wins MasterChef India Season 7

Assam’s Nayanjyoti Saikia has been declared the winner of MasterChef season 7 India on Friday, March 31. The 26-year-old self-taught cook hails from Tinsukia.

The initial episodes of the show showcased how Chef Vikas Khanna found Nayanjyoti on Instagram and persuaded his father to allow Nayanjyoti to follow his passion for cooking despite his objection. MasterChef India 7 is being judged by three renowned chefs of the country – Chef Vikas Khanna, Chef Ranveer Brar and Chef Garima Arora.

26-year-old Nayanjyoti Saikia from Tinsukia works in a tea garden with his father and enjoys cooking. Judge Vikas Khanna apparently discovered him through his Instagram page.

In the promo, chef Vikas Khanna travels thousands of kilometres to find an Assamese home cook and brings him on the show as a participant.

According to the promo, Khanna found him through his Instagram page. The Michelin star paid him a visit at home and sampled the youngster’s culinary creation.

It needs mention here that Nayanjyoti Saikia, 26, of Tinsukia, works in a tea garden with his father and enjoys cooking. He has a social media page where he displays his artwork. In the first episode, he made a dessert.

Despite coming from modest backgrounds, Nayan have made the Assamese people proud with their culinary prowess and almost flawless table setting.

Assam’s Santa Sharma and Nazia Sultana were also a part of the show. Santa & Nayanjyoti were among the 3 top finalists of the show.

Saikia defeated Santa Sarmah and Suvarna Bagul to win the title.

Nayanjyoti received ₹25 Lakh as the winning amount.
