Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday while addressing the Legislative Assembly said that Assam’s fight against COVID-19 is unparalleled and cannot be compared with any other state.
CM Sarma said that for the past 5 years Assam has been trying very hard to reach this position where it is now and it has also taken the responsibility for the entire northeastern states.
“Apart from fulfilling its own requirement, Assam will supply surplus oxygen to other northeastern states of Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Tripura. We have taken the responsibility for the entire northeastern region. The other states have shown gratitude towards Assam and we should be proud that we could help our neighboring states”, said Himanta Biswa Sarma.
CM Sarma also added, “We have supplied medicines including Remdesivir to other states like Jharkhand and Telangana when they were in need. We have also sent medicines for Black Fungus to Telangana. Assam’s fight against COVID-19 is unparalleled and cannot be compared with any other state. People in the health department are working tirelessly to provide proper and adequate treatment to the people of the state”.
