GUWAHATI: Amiul Haque Laskar, the Deputy Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly was discharged from Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) after his recovery from COVID-19. Laskar was given plasma therapy during his treatment.
The Deputy Speaker tested positive on July 28 and was admitted to COVID-19 ward at SMCH.
In a Facebook post, the BJP MLA from the Sonai constituency expressed his thankfulness to the doctors, medical staff and other frontline workers.
“I would also thank Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who kept checking my health all the time, Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma who arranged Plasma Therapy for me, Hon’ble MP Silchar Dr. Rajdeep Roy, DC Cachar and all the people who prayed for me all the time, I am thankfull to you all,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
