Assamese short film ‘Mongoh Dohar Gundh’ selected for 11th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival

Guwahati: Assamese short film ‘Mongoh Dohar Gundh’ has been selected in the prestigious 11th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2021.

The independent film festival is organized on April 30 every year to mark the birth anniversary of Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, who is regarded as the father of Indian cinema.

Mrinal Deka’s maiden directorial venture, ‘Mongoh Dohar Gundh’ revolves around a single mother faced with adversity on all fronts. whose happiness was short-lived, after an unforeseen tragedy.

Adopting a unique story-telling approach, Manas Sagra’s story and screenplay depict how one moment of carelessness can lead to serious consequences.

The movie is produced under the banner of Arati Reels.

The film also received third prize in the best short film category at the 13th International Guwahati Film Festival held recently.
