Assam: Youth killed over a game of Ludo in Lakhimpur; Accused absconding


Guwahati: In a sensational incident, one person was allegedly killed to death during a wedding ceremony in Assam’s Lakhimpur last night.

The deceased has been identified as Irshad Ali, who was attending a wedding ceremony.

As per reports, the incident occurred when Ali who had come to attend the marriage function was stabbed to death by one Atjat Ali in front of the guests.

It is learned that the duo was engaged in a verbal spat during the afternoon over a game of ludo.

According to reports, Issad Ali and five friends including the accused Afzat Ali were playing Ludo when the latter got into an argument with Issad over the game, which led to a physical fight between the two thereafter. Afzat was reportedly supported by the other four friends, informed sources.

In a fit of rage, Atjat Ali allegedly killed Irshad during the gathering.

Issad sustained fatal knife injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital, however, he was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Following the incident, accused Afzat Ali fled the scene and absconded.

Meanwhile, police have apprehended one in connection to the incident.
