GUWAHATI: Senior BJP leader and Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma during a public meeting in Mazbat said that the BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region) Accord has brought much good news for the people living in the BTAD areas and the state will not be divided in the name of Bodoland.
“No one from the BTC area can now demand a separate Bodoland state as the Bodo Accord has been signed in front of all the Bodo leaders with their proper consent in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Leaders of ABSU, BPF have all signed the Bodo accord. There will be no further separate Bodoland and this was made possible only by BJP,” said Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Dr. Sarma added, “If any village under the BTAD area doesn’t want to stay under BTC it can easily give an application for removing their village from BTC. On the other hand, if a village wants to be under BTC, people of that village can also submit an application for the process.”
Minister Sarma also stated that anyone in BTC can now sell and buy lands in the BTAD area which was not a normal practice before the Bodo Accord.
Assam BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, National General Secretary Dilip Saikia, Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das and MLAs Santosh Kujur, Jitu Kisan, Ganesh Limbu, and other party members were present in the public meeting.
