Assam to launch an App through which one can file FIR without going to Police station

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday (May 9) said that the state government will launch a mobile app through which one can file an FIR without going to the police station.

The Chief Minister made the announcement during a press conference held in Guwahati to commemorate the second term of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led state government.

CM Sarma added that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the app on May 26 during his visit to the state.

He also said that in future citizens won’t have to go to the police stations for any kind of verification as everything will be digitised.

“We are moving towards a paperless office and promoting automation and digitization at scale,” the Chief Minister further added.
