Three people, including a woman, were arrested by the Guwahati Police on charges of honey trapping a youth and blackmailing him with his obscene pictures.
The incident was reported in the city’s Dwaraka Nagar area.
The arrested trio has been identified as Rukia Begum, Kalpajyoti Bora and Lakshyajit Bora.
The incident came into light when the youth made an official complaint to the Dispur Police station of him being blackmailed by the trio with his his obscene pictures.
They robbed the youth of Rs 3 lakh 71 thousand.
Based on the complaint made by the youth, an investigation was launched and the trio was arrested.
