Assam Secretariat to resume functioning from April 21

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has decided to resume the functioning of the State secretariat – Janata Bhawan – from April 21.

According to an officic3 memorandum, all officials in the rank of deputy secretary and above will attend office regularly. Other Grade I and Grade II officers may attend office as and when required.

The head of the department will ensure that maximum of 33 per cent of the staff of Grade III and Grade IV categories will attend office on rotation basis. All personal staff associated with the ministers, advisors, senior most secretaries and officers on special duty will also attend office regularly.

The instruction will not apply to staff engaged in essential and emergency services and those directly engaged in COVID-19 control.

The employees attending office will also have to maintain various precautions like wearing masks and social distancing. All workplaces will have adequate arrangement for temperature screening and sanitizers.
