Assam: Secret meeting of 4 NDFB factions in Chirang, no decision on political party

GUWAHATI/CHIRANG: A secret meeting of all the four National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) factions was held in Bishnupur, Bijni on Wednesday. This sudden meeting near Indo-Bhutan Border in Chirang district was attended by all the top leaders of the factions.

Today’s meeting was attended by Ranjan Daimary, Gobinda Basumatary, Dhiren Bodo, B. Saoraigwra and other members of NDFB.

Speaking to reporters NDFB-P leader Govinda Basumatary said that all the factions had come to a consensus before signing the peace treaty. The leaders came to a decision that there was no urgency to form a new political party as two political parties v.i.z BPF and UPPL were already there. The NDFB leaders discussed on speedy implementation of the Bodo Peace Accord and resolving the issues of Bodoland Territorial Region with participation from all the communities residing in the region.

In the next meeting they NDFB leaders will decide which political party to work with to successfully implement all the clauses of the Bodo Peace Accord.

The meeting also discussed the rehabilitation of NDFB cadres and removal of legal cases against them.
