GUWAHATI: Though the Assam government has ordered to shut all the educational institutes in the state, the teachers will have to attend their workplaces regularly.
In a press meet in Guwahati, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the teachers would be asked to conduct awareness drives on COVID-19 in the nearby villages of their educational institutes.
“The teachers will be endowed with the responsibilities of making the people aware on Coronavirus” announced Dr. Sarma.
On the other hand, though the mid-day meal service to the students will be discontinued till March 29, the students will be given free rice during this period.
“Preparing food at the schools will not be allowed because it may attract gatherings,” said minister Sarma.
