GUWAHATI: Assam has reported one more COVID-19 death. A 22-year-old youth identified as Sanjay Khakhlary died at Diphu COVID-19 Hospital under Karbi Anglong district on Wednesday night. His swab tested COVID-19 positive on Thursday morning.
The youth had returned from Chennai by flight on June 16. He was lodged at an institutional quarantine centre after his arrival. Khakhlary was admitted to the hospital following chest pain and breathing difficulties on Wednesday morning.
With his death, the COVID-19 death toll in the State has increased to 9.
