Guwahati: Assam on Sunday recorded 3659 new COVID-19 cases out of the total 42,884 tests done in the State. The positivity rate for the day was 8.51percent. Out of the new cases, 1197 cases are from the Kamrup Metropolitan district.
On the other hand, 56 persons succumbed to the infection on Sunday.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to his Twitter and wrote, “Summary of 16/5/2021 Today’s Total 3650 Overall Positivity Percentage (3650 cases out of 42884 test done = 8.51%) Kamrup(M) 1197 Death 56 Recovery Rate 85.73%”.
