Assam: President Murmu inaugurates 3000 Model Anganwadi Centres and 100 Model Secondary Schools in tea garden areas

Guwahati: President Of India Draupadi Murmu virtually inaugurated the Assam government’s 3000 Model Anganwadi Centres, and launched the Mission Saubhagya from Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

President Murmu also laid the foundation stone for 100 Model Secondary Schools in tea garden areas.

The President also inaugurated several sections of National Highways (NHs) in Assam and laid the foundation stone of Indian Oil Limited (IOL)’s Rail-Fed Petroleum Storage Depot at Moinarbond at Silchar including a modern cargo-cum-coaching terminal at Agyathuri near Guwahati virtually from Kalakshetra itself.

President Murmu was accompanied by Governor Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, State education minister Ranoj Pegu and other dignitaries.

Earlier on Thursday, inaugurated a supercomputer facility, ‘Param Kamrupa’, under the National Supercomputing Mission, and a laboratory for the design and development of high-power microwave components at IIT Guwahati.

President Murmu also virtually inaugurated Dhubri Medical College and Hospital in Assam and laid the foundation stones for the zonal institutes of the National Institute of Virology at Dibrugarh and Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

She also laid the foundation stones for various projects on Thursday from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.

It’s worth noting that the President – Draupadi Murmu is on a two-day official visit to the northeastern state from October 13-14, which is her first visit to Assam after assuming the highest post.
