GUWAHATI: Total 402 Assam Police personnel of various ranks have been found positive for COVID-19 till July 9. According to the information shared in a tweet by GP Singh, additional director general of police (ADGP) for law and order, 116 police personnel have recovered from the infection so far.
“All others are stable,” Singh mentioned in his tweet.

Many of these police personnel were infected in the line of duty while maintaining law and order in the State. Besides playing the role as the peacekeepers, they also turned as good Samaritans for the poor and needy.
Assam has so far reported 14600 COVID-19 cases. Out of these, 9147 patients have recovered. There are 5423 active cases in the State.
