Assam Police to go strict on those moving without masks, pillion riding

GUWAHATI: The Assam Police will strictly implement wearing of masks in public places to prevent the spread of COVID19 (Coronavirus). Assam Additional Director-General of Police (law and order) GP.Singh tweeted about this from his official handle.

GP Singh’s tweet mentions that as per the Guidelines on COVID19 Management under DM Act 2005, there would be strict implementation on wearing of face mask/cover in public places.

He also added that those riding two-wheelers are not supposed to carry a pillion. There will be a complete ban on pillion riding.

As per the directive, those who are permitted to move during the lockdown must have just one person in the private car, seated in the backseat, apart from the driver in case of a four-wheeler.

Furthermore, Singh also added that spitting in public places shall be a punishable offence and

 

Assam Police will take strict action on those who will not follow these guidelines.
