GUWAHATI: Assam Police on Tuesday paid tributes to sub-inspector Bhaskar Kalita on his death anniversary who made supreme sacrifice in fighting against the insurgents.
Kalita, then officer-in-charge of Bordumsa police station was killed while leading an operation against United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) at Kujupathar Village on May 4, 2018.
“A sacrifice not to be forgotten. Today, we remember & salute the gallantry and valor of Shri Bhaskar Kalita, Police Medal (G) (P) OC Bordumsa PS, who laid down his life fighting ULFA militants in Tinsukia,” Assam Police said in a statement.

SI Kalita was awarded Police Medal for Gallantry, posthumously on the occasion of Independence Day, 2019.
