Assam Police becomes COVID free

GUWAHATI: Assam Police on Saturday became free from COVID-19 infection. The first COVID-19 positive case was detected in Assam Police on June 11. Since then, 4965 personnel tested positive for Novel Coronavirus. On the other hand, 23 cops succumbed to the infection.

Taking to Twitter, addittional director general of police (ADGP) for law and order GP Singh wrote, “December 19th marks the day that

became Covid free. The first Covid +ve was detected on June 11th. Since than, 4965 tested +ve for Covid-19 of whom we lost 23. Resilience, grit and determination saw us through this dark phase” 

Besides fighting COVID-19 on the forefront, the Assam Police personnel also emerged as Good Samaritans during the lockdown. The cops extended their helping hand to the poor and needy during the difficult times.
