GUWAHATI: Sleuths of vigilance and anti-corruption on Monday arrested Assam Police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Pankaj Bora from Morigaon Police Station while taking Rs. 4,000 as bribe from a complainant. The police officer demanded Rs. 10 thousand from one Janiram Bordoloi for finding his missing wife.
Bordoloi, a daily wage earner initially paid Rs. 5 thousand to ASI Bora. However, the police officer did not make any progress in the case and demanded more money. The vigilance and anti-corruption team caught him red-handed while taking the bribe on Monday. They also recovered additional Rs. 20 thousand in cash from his possession.
