Guwahati: Cachar police have arrested a fake police official on charges of not only forging identity but also duping people in the name of police.
The accused identified as one Samid Hussain, 22 year old, was allegedly posing as a police official in the district’s Katigorah.
According to reports, Hussain has not even cleared class 10 and also flunked thrice in his his board exams.
The 22-year-old was allegedly threatening and extorting money from various people in Katigorah and Badarpur claiming himself to be a policeman.
A photograph of Bharbhuiya wearing a police uniform of a sub-inspector went viral on Facebook after which the police nabbed him from Badarpur.
He has been detained in Katigorah Police Station and is likely to be produced before the judge on Wednesday.
