Assam: No COVID-19 test, isolation if you produce a negative test report during arrival

GUWAHATI: The Health and Family Welfare Department of Assam has made a partial modification in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that was earlier issued in respect to people arriving in Assam.

According to the recent modification anyone traveling to Assam by air, road or railways don’t need to undergo COVID-19 test if they can produce a negative test report during arrival. Anyone who had previously tested COVID-19 positive and later tested negative after recovering doesn’t need to undergo any COVID test on their arrival in Assam. Also, no isolation or quarantine required on production of satisfactory test result documents said the modification.

“Any person who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 and subsequently tested negative, need not undergo Rapid Antigen/ RT-PCR testing on arrival in Assam by air/road/railways, and isolation/quarantine, subject to production of satisfactory test result document,” said the official order issued by Principal Secretary Samir K. Sinha.
