GUWAHATI: All the newly-elected members are taking oath today on the first day of the first session of new Assam Legislative Assembly.
First, the oath was administered to chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma by protem speaker Phani Bhushan Choudhury.
Former CM Sarbananda Sonowal also took oath.
Raijor Dal leader Akhil Gogoi, who had contested and won the polls from behind bars and is yet to get bail in multiple cases against him, including sedition charges, was brought to the Assembly under police cover.
