Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh to Witness Scattered Rains and Thunderstorms

Guwahati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during 20th to 23th January.

According to a press release issued by the IMD on Wednesday (January 19), a cyclonic circulation lies over north Bangladesh and neighbourhood at lower tropospheric level as a result rainfall is likely over the Northeast India region.

Furthermore, a cyclonic circulation will be observed around Bangladesh and bring isolated to scattered showers or snowfall over North-Eastern India and adjoining West Bengal and Bihar from Saturday to Monday. During this period, fairly widespread snow or rain is likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

Meanwhile, cold air will blanket Bihar and Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The cold air mass will likely cover northwest India on Saturday and spread to northeast India from Sunday onward.

Accordingly, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert over Bihar so individuals are “prepared” for the cold day and fog conditions.
