Assam: Know more about 2 COVID-19 patients from Jorhat

GUWAHATI: Two women from Assam’s Jorhat district tested COVID-19 positive on Saturday. The women reached Jorhat by an ambulance from Mumbai. The ambulance driver from Mumbai also tested COVID-19 positive. However, the driver has been sent back to Mumbai.

Talking to News Live Jorhat deputy commissioner (DC) Roshni Aparanji Korati said “An ambulance from Mumbai came on Friday. The ambulance brought a 12 year-old cancer patient, his mother, aunt and a cousin. The ambulance directly went to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH). Samples of all the four passengers collected and two tested COVID-19 positive. The ambulance driver also tested positive.”

The deputy commissioner said that the two women COVID-19 patients are 36 and 37 year old. They are now in a stable condition.

“The 12-year old boy who is a cancer patient and his cousin tested negative. They are fine and asymptomatic.  We have been taking special care for the cancer patient. All of them are currently at JMCH,” she added.
