PUBLISHED:

GUWAHATI: The high school leaving certificate (HSLC) and higher secondary (HS) final year exams under the state boards for the next year are likely to be held as per the earlier schedule, indicated Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. Dr. Sarma said that there is no possibility of deferring the exams.

Talking to media persons minister Sarma said that the students of Assam will face inconveniences for medical and engineering admissions if the exams are deferred. He stated that exams would be held with reduced syllabus.

“If the exams are deferred at the national level there is no issue for the students from Assam. The central government is not in favour of deferring the exams. Therefore, I request the students to study well. We will also help them. We have reduced the course,” the minister said.
