Assam: Hojai businessman to offer Rs. 5,000 to plasma donors

GUWAHATI: In order to encourage plasma donation to fight COVID-19 pandemic, a man from Assam’s Hojai district has come forward to offer Rs. 5,000 each to plasma donors in the district.

Businessman Rohit Agarwala who is the chairman cum managing trustee of Omprakash Pramila Devi Memorial Charitable Trust will provide the money to first 100 donors from the district.  

“Responding to the appeal of Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma to donate plasma, we are going to offer Rs. 5,000 to first 100 donors each to express our gratitude to them. We offered the proposal to district administration which has been accepted,” said Agarwala.

He stated that the move would be implemented under the guidance and cooperation of the Hojai district administration.
