Assam Govt’s puja gift: Guwahati gets new flyover today

GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal in the presence of  health, finance, education and public works department (PWD) minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Guwahati development department minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya will inaugurate the newly constructed flyover at Ganeshguri in Guwahati today. The bridge which has been completed within 19 months is opening today on the Maha Shashthi as a puja gift to the citizens of the city.

The 425.50 metre-long flyover has been constructed with a cost of Rs. 58.78 crore from SOPD (State-Owned Priority Development) fund 2019-20. CM Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone of the flyover on March 6, 2019.

It has been expected that the flyover will reduce the traffic congestion in the city.
