Assam Govt mulls over to bring back people stranded outside: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that the Assam Government has been mulling over to bring back the people outside the state soon. Government will soon take necessary steps in this regard.

Visiting the people in quarantine at Srirampur under Kokrajhar district along the Assam-West Bengal borders, minister Sarma said that around 70 thousand people will be released from quarantine on April 10. Sarma interacted with the people under quarantine who were stuck on Bengal border at Srirampur as they were in transit the day lockdown was imposed. He stated that the government has been initiating the process to send them back homes.
