Assam Government ready to prevent Coronavirus Outbreak, Himanta Biswa Sarma tells House

GUWAHATI: Assam government has taken all the necessary steps to fight against the outbreak of deadly Coronavirus.

Briefing the Assam Legislative Assembly during the budget session today, Dr. Sarma said, “We have decided to use Singimari Model Hospital, Sonapur Civil Hospital and Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMC) to use exclusively for Coronavirus treatment.”

The patients of eye hospital at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) will be shifted to Sri Sankaradeva Netralaya to convert the eye campus to isolation ward. The government will bear the expenses of eye patients at Sankardeva Netralaya.

“With public-private partnership, the general patients will be sent to private hospitals. We are planning to activate the Atal Amrit Abhiyan card for the treatment of any disease,” Dr. Sarma added.
