“To ensure strict adherence to practice of #SocialDistance, we have introduced stamping at Guwahati airport for those coming from outside, for home quarantine. This is done after permission from concerned individuals. Other airports shall start this from Monday,” Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced in a Tweet on Sunday.

The process of marking people with stamp has also begun at the railway stations for those who came from outside the state.

Earlier on Friday, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “All passengers who will enter Assam from states affected by coronavirus will be stamped at railway stations and airports. Their stamp will say that I volunteer to be at home for 14 days since Assam needs social distancing.”
