GUWAHATI: A 22-year-old from Darrang district of Assam was gang-raped by 5 persons in Tirupur in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.
As per reports, the victim was raped on the pretext of offering a job by five men who called her to Tiruppur from Coimbatore. The woman in her complaint stated that she approached Rajesh Kumar and requested for a job in Tiruppur as she is a single parent and had lost her job due to lockdown.
Rajesh Kumar picked up the girl from Palladam and took her to his residence and introduced her to his brother and family. Following the meeting which ended in the evening, as Rajesh Kumar couldn’t find her a job immediately he asked his brother Raju to drop her at Palladam to catch the bus back to Coimbatore. Using this opportunity, Raju along with 4 of his friends, took the woman to a deserted plot and all of the five men raped her.
Police have meanwhile arrested Rajeev, Anbu and Kavin and search is on for two others.
