GUWAHATI: In a sensational incident, four inmates fled from Lakhimpur district jail in Assam. The inmates have been identified as Rahul Daimary, Pranab Das, Papu Bania and Loknath Pegu.
While, there are several cases of bike theft against Rahul Daimary, Pranab Das and Papu Bania, Loknath Pegu is a rape accused.
The jail authorities came to know about the escape of the inmates at around 2.30 AM on Saturday.
The incident has created sensation in the district as the accused were accused in serious crimes.
Though police has started search operation, there is no trace of the inmates yet.
