GUWAHATI: According to the latest reports, the following Indian National Congress candidates have won the Assam assembly elections.
- Rakibul Hussain won from Samaguri Constituency.
- Wazed Ali Choudhury won from the South Salmara Constituency.
- Rupjyoti Kurmi won from the Mariani Constituency.
- Rakibuddin Ahmed from Chhaygaon.
- Nandita Das from Boko.
- Sushanta Borgohain from Thowra Constituency.
On the other hand, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and self-proclaimed chief ministerial candidate of grand alliance Ripun Bora faced a humiliating defeat in Gohpur. Utpal Bora of BJP defeated the top Congress leader with a margin of 14,118 votes.
