Assam elections: Himanta Biswa sarma reveals his dreams for Jalukbari

GUWAHATI: Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will file his nomination papers today for Jalukbari constituency in the Assam assembly elections.

While asked about his future plans for the constituency, the senior BJP leader shared some of his dreams for the welfare of the people in Jalukbari.

“Though, we don’t have so many works to do in the Jalukbari constituency, but we have some dreams to be fulfilled. I aim at the completion of Guwahati-North Guwahati bridge, flyover at Maligaon and alternate road to Kamakhya.  I have a dream for another bridge between Sualkuchi and Palashbari over the Brahmaputra. I look forward for the completion of the AIIMS,” Dr.  Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

He stated that he will emphasise to complete all the projects undertaken in the last 5 years.

“I dream to make Jalukbari the most developed constituency in the country,” he added.

On the other hand, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his confidence over his swift victory in the upcoming election.

“I believe the winning margin will be in between 1 lakh 20 thousand to 1 lakh 50 thousand,” Dr. Sarma claimed.

Before filing his nomination, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday morning visited Kamakhya Devalaya atop Nilachal hills in Guwahati to take blessings from the goddess. He was accompanied by his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma. The senior BJP leader also prayed at Doul Govinda Temple at North Guwahati.
