Assam: Darrang DC appeals citizens to donate beds for quarantine centres

GUWAHATI: Darrang district administration in Assam has been facing acute shortage of beds to quarantine the large number of returnees coming from other states amdi COVID-19 pandemic. Deputy commissioner (DC) of Darrang Dilip Kumar Borah has appealed the local residents to donate  beds to meet such shortage.

“If some individuals or organisations have additional beds, please give us to use for quarantine centres. It will help us in saving the government’s money as well as making the service more prompt,” said Bora.

The deputy commissioner also stated that the administration has been facing shortage of beds due to the ongoing lockdown.
