GUWAHATI: The addition of 1,523 new cases took Assam’s COVID-19 tally to 5,00,644 on Sunday. The death toll rose to 4,440 with 37 fresh fatalities.
Kamrup Metro district recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 149, followed by Sonitpur(137) and Jorhat(109), a health bulletin said.
The state now has 25,790 active cases, while 4,69,067 people have recovered from the disease this far.

The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state stands at 93.69 per cent, while the mortality rate is at 0.89 per cent.
A total of 1,347 coronavirus patients have died due to other causes to date.
