Assam: COVID-19 patient found working in paddy field

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a COVID-19 positive man in Assam was found working in a paddy field defying all the rules for home quarantine.

According to reports, Sahinur Islam, a resident of Nagarbera in Kamrup district was under home quarantine after his return from Nagaland. He tested COVID-19 positive during the period of home quarantine.

When a team of health department and police arrived at his residence to transfer the man to the hospital, he was busy working in the paddy field. The team had to wait for more than an hour to bring the COVID-19 patient for the treatment. The violation of quarantine norms by a COVID-19 patient has raised serious concerns among the authorities.
